The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has continued consultations with national stakeholders as part of efforts to advance the group’s vision of good governance and transformational leadership for Nigeria.

In a statement released on Sunday, Dr. Tanko confirmed that he paid a courtesy visit on August 24, 2025, to Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, describing the engagement as part of the movement’s ongoing “building bridges across the Niger” initiative.

According to him, the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with respected figures while restating the movement’s mission of demanding accountable leadership as championed by the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi.

“Yesterday, 24/08/2025, as part of our building bridges across the Niger, I stated the mission and vision of the Obidient Movement with clear emphasis and demand for good governance and leadership in Nigeria as captured by His Excellency Peter Obi. I visited Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, a renowned Nigerian Islamic scholar and cleric with impeccable credentials who is a Nigerian public official, academic, and IT professional,” Dr. Tanko said.

Professor Pantami, born on October 20, 1972, in Gombe State, has had a distinguished career in academia and public service. He holds a PhD in Computing and Information Systems from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and previously obtained an MSc and BTech in Computer Science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU). A professor of cybersecurity at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Pantami has also served as Minister of Communications and Digital Economy (2019–2023), Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), lecturer at ATBU, and Head of Technical Writing at the Islamic University of Madinah.

Tanko stressed that the meeting underscored the Obidient Movement’s resolve to engage with thought leaders and bridge builders across different sectors of national life in order to create the conditions for a new Nigeria.

“We keep moving, and a New Nigeria is POssible,” he concluded.
