Kogi APC Flags Off Local Government Election Process, Promises Level Playing Field for All Aspirants

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi State, has unveiled the official timetable for activities ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Elections, assuring party members and aspirants of a credible, transparent, and inclusive process.
Speaking, during a press briefing on Tuesday at the APC State Secretariat in Lokoja, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. (Dr.) Abdullahi Bello (popularly known as Dollar), reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and equal opportunity for all contestants. He said the timetable, which aligns with the schedule released by the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), reflects the party’s readiness to conduct a rancour-free primary election.
Hon. Bello emphasized that the APC remains a party firmly rooted in fairness and unity, urging aspirants to pursue their ambitions confidently and responsibly.
“Our party is committed to a credible process devoid of rancour. We encourage every aspirant to advance their dreams by strictly following the guidelines provided by the APC and SIEC. No one will be sidelined,” he assured.
The chairman commended the steadfast loyalty of APC members and the broader Kogi populace toward the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. He described their support as the backbone of the party’s continued success, noting that the achievements recorded by the Ododo administration stem from the collective dedication of party faithful at all levels.
Hon. Bello conveyed the appreciation of Governor Ododo and the party leadership to citizens across the state, promising sustained delivery of democratic dividends without discrimination.
“We are one family and one state. The administration remains focused on serving the people of Kogi State with fairness and equity,” he stated.
As the election season intensifies, the APC chairman called for calm, unity, and peaceful participation among aspirants and supporters. He stressed the need for sportsmanship, warning against any form of hostility or division. According to him, the true winners of the electoral process will be the people of Kogi State.
He also urged party members to route any concerns or complaints through the APC Secretariat, pledging transparency and timely intervention at all stages of the exercise.
The press briefing ended with a renewed appeal for vigilance and commitment to the values that have positioned the APC as a dominant political force in Kogi State.
