ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Benin Summit Group has congratulated newly promoted Assistant Inspectors General of Police, Osagie John Agans Irabor and Betty Enekpen Otimenyin, describing their elevation as a fitting reward for years of exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication to the Nigeria Police Force.

In a statement issued by its Convener, Earl Osaro Onaiwu, the group praised the promotion of the two senior police officers from the rank of Commissioner of Police to Assistant Inspector General of Police, saying the development reflects their outstanding contributions to policing and national security.

According to the group, AIG Osagie John Agans Irabor, currently serving at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Lagos, has distinguished himself through exceptional leadership, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to combating crime and strengthening internal security across the country.

The statement also commended AIG Betty Enekpen Otimenyin for her remarkable service in the Force Welfare Department, where she was credited with championing the welfare of police personnel and their families, thereby contributing significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

“Their elevation is a testament to their exceptional professionalism, dedication, integrity, and years of distinguished service to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation,” the Benin Summit Group stated.

The organisation further described the promotions as a source of pride to Edo State, noting that the achievements of the two senior officers continue to inspire younger generations to embrace excellence, discipline, and selfless service to the nation.

The group expressed confidence that both officers would bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in their new positions, while continuing to uphold the ideals of professionalism, integrity, and excellence in policing.

“The Benin Summit Group is proud to celebrate these outstanding sons and daughters of Edo State, whose achievements have brought honour to the state and serve as shining examples of dedicated public service,” the statement added.

The group also prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, good health, and continued success for the newly promoted police chiefs as they assume their new responsibilities.

The promotion of AIG Osagie John Agans Irabor and AIG Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been widely welcomed by stakeholders, with many describing it as a deserving recognition of their contributions to national security, police administration, and the advancement of the Nigeria Police Force.
