A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, Ph.D., has commenced a broad-based grassroots mobilisation campaign aimed at strengthening support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections.
As part of the initiative, Ajia unveiled the Ajia Progressive Alliance for Asiwaju/Shettima (APAAS) 2027, a political mobilisation platform designed to deepen grassroots engagement, expand the APC’s support base and coordinate campaign activities across Kwara State.
The move was announced during a stakeholders’ meeting held at Ajia’s residence in Ilorin, where party elders, political leaders, women and youth representatives, grassroots mobilisers and other influential APC stakeholders from Kwara Central gathered to deliberate on strategies for the party’s future.
According to a statement issued after the meeting by Ajia’s Director of Communications and Strategy, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan, the engagement forms part of a wider statewide consultation aimed at consolidating support for President Tinubu, strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures and positioning the party for victory in the 2027 elections.
Addressing participants, Ajia, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State, described President Tinubu’s re-election as a shared responsibility for all loyal members of the APC.
He maintained that the continuity of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda would enable the government to consolidate ongoing reforms and deliver long-term national development.
“Our priority is to ensure the successful re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. We must close ranks, strengthen our structures and work together to deliver Kwara State convincingly for our great party. Unity, consultation and grassroots mobilisation remain the foundation of this mission,” Ajia stated.
The Ilorin-born security expert and entrepreneur explained that APAAS 2027 was conceived as a strategic platform to coordinate political mobilisation, broaden the party’s grassroots reach and encourage greater participation of women, youths and other key stakeholders in the electoral process.
He also announced plans to establish a Strategic Think Tank Team that will coordinate political planning, design mobilisation strategies, engage with the APC national leadership and supervise activities across all sixteen local government areas of Kwara State.
Ajia further disclosed that a dedicated coordinating office would soon be inaugurated to serve as the operational headquarters of the movement.
While stressing the need for party unity, he assured members that consultations with stakeholders would continue in order to foster inclusiveness and strengthen the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.
Stakeholders who addressed the gathering described the initiative as a timely effort capable of revitalising the APC’s grassroots structures and increasing support for President Tinubu across the state.
Hon. Ahmed Jimoh said the consultation would further strengthen the party’s electoral prospects through sustained engagement and inclusive leadership.
Prince Reuben Olatunde, representing the Indigenous Christian community from Marafa/Pepele in Ilorin East Local Government Area, called for greater collaboration among party members to present a united front during the next general elections.
Dr. Saadat Yetunde Yusuf urged greater involvement of women and youths in the mobilisation campaign, noting that their active participation would broaden public support and strengthen the movement.
Other speakers, including Yusuf Amuda (Adewole), Alhaja Lateefat, Maruf Inujin, Tunde Bifuwe of Ilorin West and Balogun Okunlola of Ilorin South, pledged their support for the initiative and called for sustained grassroots mobilisation, voter engagement and continuous consultations across Kwara Central and beyond.
The meeting adopted several resolutions, including the establishment of the Strategic Think Tank Team, the implementation of a statewide mobilisation framework under APAAS 2027, regular stakeholder engagements across Kwara State and the establishment of a coordinating office to drive the movement’s activities.
Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to working for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 by strengthening the APC’s structures, promoting party unity and mobilising support across all sixteen local government areas of the state.
According to the statement, the Kwara Central consultation is the first in a series of engagements that will be extended to other parts of Kwara State as the mobilisation campaign gathers momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
