Office Of First Son, First Daughter, Side Chic, First Pet Dog — Osagie Laments Governance Waste

At the Abuja end of his consultative tours, Hon. Omo Osagie told the NDC leaders and media train of his entourage:
“The concept of First Lady at all tiers of governance across Nigeria has become a local and international embarrassment.

Their unexplained and unlawful access to billions of taxpayers money and in-your-face so-called empowerment programmes and self-serving private causes have become a flagrant drain of public resources and cancer on the conscience of democratic civilization.”

“It is a shame how this misnomer in Nigeria’s public governance has now degenerated to new forms. It is to the extent that we now have letterheads bearing Office of the First Son, First Daughter of the President and Governors of various states. These drainpipe so-called pet projects fly over the faces of Nigerians, cross our borders to mocking African countries, Europe and America, flagrantly displaying indiscreet and ridiculous multi-billion naira projects of all sorts.”

“In no time we are going to have letterheads and projects designated as Office of the Side Chic and Even First Pet Dog of the Governor, Local Council Chairmen and so on,” Osagie lamented.

“Nigeria cannot continue like this. Sometimes we’ve got to say enough is enough, and I think this is the time,” Osagie declared.

Recall that the Federal High Court in Benin had delivered a unanimous judgment on October 27, 2026 declaring Hon. Omo Osagie as the lawful candidate of the NDC for Oredo Federal Constituency, after several months of hearing processes involving multiple aspirants.
