The fourth Ufuk Iftar Dialogue and Award ceremony was held on the 30th June, 2015 at the Abuja Sheraton Hotels.
The Foundation launched in 2011, aims to foster inter faith and cross cultural dialogue across board to facilitate peaceful coexistence among people of diverse culture and beliefs.
President of the Ufuk Foundation, Mr Ercan Ulgur, in his opening speech, called on Nigerians to embrace dialogue and tolerance as the only way to peaceful coexistence.
At the award ceremony,Mother of the day, the first lady of Nigeria,Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, represented by wife of the Nasarawa state, governor, Mairo Tanko al-Makura, said she was pleased with the Turkish foundation for setting up such a foundation which has fostered coexistence among Nigerians in this challenging times.
She called on Nigerians to pray for the sustenance of the change the prayed for, and got.
The elaborate event presented awards to Nigerians in various fields for outstanding performance. Those awarded include Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Daily Trust Editor and Colunmist, Mahmud Jega, Daniel Amokachie, among other eminent Nigerians.
