Facts have emerged how a terrorist attack by a tricycle operator right outside Borno Garage in Maiduguri, the state capital, Saturday morning, killed residents and injured others.

TheStreetReporters.com gathered that though it was a failed mission by the suspected Boko Haram member, the tricycle operator and three other passersby were consumed in the explosion which also injured three others.

According to a local witness who spoke on the incident, the explosion occurred early Saturday while the tricycle operator was waiting for opportunity to strike outside the motor park but missed its target.

But in a bid to catch up with the targeted vehicle, the explosives on him went up, killing him instantly along with three others by the roadside.

“I was at the motor park to board a vehicle when the explosion occurred.

“The park is near the SSS office and a tricycle was targeting a bus that just left the motor park but triggered off the explosion before the tricycle could get to bus.

“Four people, including the bomber, were killed,” Abraham Mshelia, told THEWILL.

His account of the incident was corroborated by another resident, Ibrahim Audu, who said he escaped death by the whiskers.
