In response to Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III’s declaration of Friday as Eid el-Fitr day, which put to an end the annual Ramadan fast, Muslim faithfuls had begun their journey to their respective praying ground when a bomb blast occurred in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital on Friday.
TheStreetReporters.com gathered that the blast occurred at an area known as Njiwaji Gwange in Damaturu, early on Friday.
A source who had the blast said the bomb exploded inside a tricycle popularly called Keke NAPEP in the area.
It was gathered that the blast was loud, even as TheStreetReporters.com was yet to confirm the casualty figure, if any.
Security agents were said to be racing to the site of the blast at the time of this report.
Activities of Boko Haram militants have been on the rise since the new administration of Muhammadu Buhari, a former military general.
