The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has disowned Facebook Accounts in the name of its Commandant General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu.

The spokesman of the corps, Emmanuel Okeh, in a statement said, “The Commandant General of NSCDC does not operate any Facebook account. Therefore, any facebook in the name of the officer is illegal, fake and fraudulent.”

The corps stated that it has intensified efforts “to apprehend and prosecute those online scammers operating fake social media accounts to deceive the citizens.

“The NSCDC, therefore, urges the general public, especially contractors and job-seekers to be wary of such Facebook accounts being operated by fraudsters to hoodwink and deceive members of the public,” he said.
