As part of its activities to mark the international women’s Day recently, the Asabe Shehu Yar’adua Foundation (ASYARF), a non-government organization, joined the world to celebrate all women across the globe.

The Founder and President of the organization, Dr. (Amb.) Hajiya Asabe Shehu Musa Yar’Adua who spoke in Abuja as the organization marked this year’s International Women Day, with theme entitled: “Planet 5050 by 2030: Step it up for Gender equality”, said: “The fight against gender inequality and women abuse should go on fearlessly”.[metaslider id=4498]

The United Nations and the entire humanity unequivocally acknowledged the great role and impact women play in the affairs of the world.

The ASYARF has been doing a great job by propagating and creating awareness among today’s women on their right to gender equality and employment opportunities.

Condemning various discriminatory practices against women, Dr. Asabe advocated for more in empowering the female gender to be economically independent, educating them on their human rights and need to speak up whenever they are being denied of their right.
She maintained that International women’s day is the celebration of the achievement of women and appreciation of womanhood.

According to her, it is also a day to evaluate where women are lacking behind and find a solution to end all forms of injustice and inhuman treatment against woman.

ASYARF has been in the forefront, championing gender equality and propagation and creation of awareness among today’s women on their right to gender equality and employment opportunities.
