COVID-19: Mr LA Urges Intensified Prayers, Caution
A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain and senatorial candidate for Kaduna Central, Lawal Adamu Usman, popularly known as Mr LA, has urged the intensification of prayers as a way of checking the escalation of the global Coronavirus pandemic otherwise referred to as COVID-19.
Reacting to the outbreak in the country through his special media consultant, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, the PDP stalwart said the rate of rampage by the COVID-19 across the globe is a matter for serious concern that calls for rigorous prayers and sincere repentance to the Almighty God.
“In addition to the universally recommended precaution measures, intensive and extensive prayers for divine intervention by adherents to all religions would certainly be a sure remedy,” Mr LA said.
He called on religious, traditional, cultural and all shades of community leaderships to double efforts in educating and sensitizing the public on the necessity of adhering to and cooperating with recommendations by health agencies and authorities.
“Lamenting that while countries with the advantage of responsible and responsive leaderships also feel the pains of the pandemic, those like ours that lack leadership are completely at the mercy of nature in this difficult times”, Mr LA said.
Cautioning the authorities against the sudden total lockdown of communities, Mr LA noted that it will only worsen the people’s already critical conditions and cause a nationwide panic which the government is certainly not prepared for.
“Countries with responsible leaderships and organized control systems were cautious and gradual with their approach to the issues of lockdown.
“Our governments must also not rush into locking down communities without the minimum guarantee of security and putting essential infrastructure in place,” he warned.
