NewsFlash: Agba Jalingo, 18 Other Activists Arrested at @RevolutionNow Protest
…As Police, DSS Disperse Abuja Protesters
Veteran journalist Agba Jalingo and 18 other activists have been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force at the August 5, 2020 @RevolutionNow protest on the anniversary of the ordered by its convener, Omoyele Sowore to protest worsening economic and security situation in Nigeria.
The journalist is currently detained at Area “F” Police Station in Ikeja, Lagos State.
This is even as the Police and Nigeria’s secret police Department of State Services (DSS) dispersed the #RevoltuionNow protesters in Abuja.
The security officials were said to have pursed both protesters and journalists from the scene of the protest.
Although the leader of the movement, Omoyele Sowore is not among the demonstrators, the protesters were led by Mr Pelumi Olajegbensi, who has called for a change in government, insisting there is need for political revolution.
