School Resumption: NTYTP Donates Face Masks to Yobe State Govt

The Yobe State chapter of the Not Too Young To Perform (NTYTP) Leadership Development Advocacy has donated 500 face masks to theĀ  state ministry of education as part of efforts to support exiting students resuming for their examinations amid the COVID-19 pandemic comply with the preventive guidelines by Nigerian authorities.

School Resumption: NTYTP Donates Face Masks to Yobe State GovtAccording to the its state Coordinator, Comrade Mohammed Bukar Ahijo, the donation was part of the group’s efforts to curb the spread of the COVID-19 infection.

He told newsmen that in its effort to save lives and break the chain of COVID-19 infections, the NTYTP Yobe state chapter donated the face masks to students of the state through the ministry of basic and secondary education, face mask is an essential requirement in the fight against COVID-19 and equally reduce the spread of the virus.

“We start by wishing all final year secondary school student success in their forthcoming examinations, as it defines the efforts being exerted for years and a bridge to a bigger world of tertiary institutions.

“Furthermore, we appreciate the efforts made by the federal and state Ministry of Education to ensure that this terminal examination is been exercised, despite the challenges the world is facing of COVID-19.

“In this crucial time, adhering to healthcare guidelines, respecting social distances and other related preventive measures is compulsory, especially for students sitting for exams”, he advised.

School Resumption: NTYTP Donates Face Masks to Yobe State GovtSpeaking further, Comrade Bukar Ahijo noted that since the outbreak, NTYTP Yobe State chapter has been advocating and enlightening the general public on the need to avoid all forms of unnecessary gatherings that may lead to spread of the virus.

“We all believe that the government cannot deliver hundred percent to its citizens, nongovernmental organizations, philanthropists, and individuals need toĀ  encourage the government contribute in key sectors for rapid development.

“We will continue working closely with healthcare professions, state ministry of education, and other non-governmental organizations in the fight against COVID-19”, he said.

The Commissioner for Basic And Secondary Education in the state Ministry of Education, Dr Sani Mohammed Idriss, who received the group’s delegation, commended the youths for the gesture, pledging the ministry’s readiness to partner with the group in their future activities in the state.
