Comrade Kalu made the declaration on Monday, November 2nd, 2026, when he led his supporters on a solidarity visit to the Chima Anyaso Campaign Office. The visit, which was both symbolic and strategic, was aimed at formally identifying with the campaign and aligning with what he described as a common political direction for Bende.

Decision Driven By Unity, Credible Representation — Kalu

Addressing the leadership of the campaign council during the visit, Comrade Kalu said his decision was not taken lightly, but was influenced by careful observation of the political currents in Bende and the need for unity of purpose among progressive forces.

According to him, Bende needs a strong, credible and widely accepted voice in the National Assembly, and Dr. Anyaso represents that voice.

He noted that the quality, capacity and calibre of men and women driving Dr. Anyaso’s campaign gave him confidence that the movement is built on competence, experience and genuine love for Bende.
“One of the things that motivated me to take this decision is the calibre of men and women here,” Kalu declared.

“I have looked at the direction we are all going, and I believe we need to pull together to achieve a common purpose for our people. That is why I have decided to collapse my structure and work with this team,” he said.

Expressing absolute confidence in Dr. Anyaso’s ability to deliver quality representation, Comrade Kalu added in an emphatic tone:
“By God’s mercy, come 2027, this is the man that will tower in the House of Representatives representing Bende Federal Constituency.”
He assured the campaign leadership of his commitment to mobilize his supporters across the 13 wards of Bende Local Government Area to ensure victory for Dr. Anyaso in the forthcoming general elections.

Bold, Selfless, Patriotic Move — Campaign Council

Receiving him on behalf of the campaign, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Pastor Dike Okechukwu, described Comrade Kalu’s decision as bold, selfless and patriotic. He said it demonstrates that Bende politicians are beginning to put the interest of the constituency above personal ambition.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Advisory Board, Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha, welcomed Comrade Kalu into the fold, noting that the Anyaso campaign is an open movement that welcomes all genuine progressives who share in the vision of a better Bende.

Other Directors of the campaign present at the meeting also lauded the move, describing it as a sign of growing consensus and momentum around Dr. Anyaso’s candidacy.

Political analysts say with this latest alignment, the Chima Anyaso movement has once again proven to be the rallying point for progressive forces in Bende ahead of 2027, consolidating its status as the campaign to beat.

The 2027 Bende Federal Constituency race is gradually taking shape, and endorsements such as this will play a crucial role in defining the direction of the contest.
