Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu Congratulates Obaseki, Edo People
….As Senator Samdaddy Bemoans Political Impunity, Dictatorship
Following the declaration of Godwin Obaseki of Edo State as Governor, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) has congratulated him and the good people of Edo state for believing in him, describing the emergence of the PDP candidate as victory for democracy.
Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu therefore condemned politics of impunity and dictatorship, adding that the act exhibited by the former national Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole against the party’s choice of candidate gave victory to the PDP.
He disclosed this in a statement by his Media Adviser, Ikenna Onuoha and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
Senator Samdaddy Anyanwu also commended security agents for not interfering in the exercise which gave rise to the free and fair election.
The vibrant lawmaker further applauded the chairman of the PDP national campaign council for Edo State and Governor of Rivers State, Barr Nyeson Wike and other Governors of PDP extraction for making the party’s victory a reality, while urging them to replicate the same thing in the forth coming Ondo state Governorship election.
According to him, impunity and dictatorship were the most ugly principles that could destroy party programmes, and called on political leaders to shun such act, which he said was capable of brewing crisis and acrimony.
He said, “APC lost Edo State not because members of her national campaign council did not do their home work very well, but due to the dictatorial role the former national Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomele played, everything turned against them. My advice to political leaders is to desist from being vindictive, arrogant and dictatorial from the way they play the game. Politics should not be seen as a do or die affair, it is just a mathematics, once you have the formula, definitely, you will smile”.
While commending the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for been neutral in the whole exercise, further expressed optimism that the nation’s democracy would be deepened if politicians should adhere to the rules of the game.
