Gombe Governor in New Year Message Sues for Resilience, Renewed Commitment to Unity, Peace
Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has enjoined the people of the state to reflect and draw on the lessons learnt in 2020 in all aspects of human endeavours and continue to work assiduously for the unity, peace, security and development of the state and the country”.
In his new year message, Governor Yahaya said 2021 offers the citizenry a new opportunity to renew their faith in God, commitment to state and country, calling on them to look to the future with optimism.
He acknowledged the resilience and perseverance of the people of the state in the midst of socio-economic difficulties in 2020 occasioned by the Covid-19 Pandemic and its devastating impact on lives and means of livelihood, urging them to maintain their undying spirit and enter 2021 with hope and renewed faith.
The Governor expressed optimism that the year 2021 will be a bright and prosperous one for Gombe state and Nigeria, citing his recent signing of the 2021 budget of resilience and the planned kick-starting of the Gombe State 10-year Development plan ( 2021-2030) which he said place his government well on course to deliver on its far-reaching agenda of good governance, effective service delivery and sustainable growth.
” Everybody knows the effect of the covid-19 Pandemic and what it has created not only within the Nigerian society but in the entire world and if we continue to work hard enough and show resilience, we shall overcome the challenges and emerge stronger”.
“The year 2021 holds a great promise for all of us through improved security, youths and women empowerment and greater attention to infrastructural development across sectors”.
“As we enter the new year, I call on all of us to draw on the lessons learnt in 2020 in all aspects of human endeavours and continue to work assiduously for the peace, progress, security and development of the state”.
