Reshape Your Future Through Ballot Revolution, Youths Told

A Public Affairs Analyst, Temitope Omotayo has urged Nigerian youths to reshape their future through what he described as ballot revolution.

Speaking on a programme he personally sponsored “Youth Vanguard” (SOROSOKE) on Voice FM, Ado-Ekiti, Omotayo said it became imperative for youths to consider their future by raising, supporting and voting for youths like them who know how to solve their challenges.

Omotayo, a chieftain of the Young Progressives Party, YPP in Ekiti State posited that the present crop of leaders in the country have little or no interest of the younger generation at hearts, hence they should rise to the challenges.

“There are many youths who have the technical know-how and are capable of improving the economy of the Nation, they could not display this because they were not allowed to get to the top”.

According to the Ado-Ekiti born young politician, those leaders had crippled the country’s economy and jeopardize the future of the youths, this make it difficult for them to walk freely on the streets.

The YPP stalwart, Temitope Omotayo however condemned the idea of Godfatherism in Nigerian politics, saying it is killing the political system, as those who are imposed don’t usually perform.

A guest on the programme, Oluwadamilola Abe urged youths to ensure that they have their voter cards in order for them to be able to vote for leaders who have their interest at hearts.

“Without voter cards, they will just be complaining without any change”.

She said there was the need to test the ability of youths to know their viability in holding political positions and capability to be responsible citizens of the country.

Oluwadamilola Abe said government should make available, adequate security so that farmers would be able to go to their farms, because many farmers had abandoned their farms due to insecurity.
