Mr Bernard Odior has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election for the Isoko North State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
Odior, the immediate past State Legal Adviser of the PDP, polled a total of 23 votes to defeat his closest challenger and immediate past Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor who polled 8 votes.
Others include Zino Onaemor 5 votes, Ashaka Orobosa 2, incumbent Jude Ogbimi 1 vote, Immediate past Commissioner for Project Monitoring and Audit, Ovie Oghoore 1, while Ogboru Ewomazino and Oki Enahoro score nil votes.
Declaring the result of the primary election held at Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ozoro, the Returning Officer, Mr Noel Omodon said, “By the powers vested in me as the returning officer of the PDP Primary election for Isoko North State Constituency, I hereby declare Hon. Bernard Odior winner of the primary election having polled a total of 23 votes representing 58% of total votes cast in the election.”
An elated Odior while speaking to the press shortly after he was declared winner thanked God and the good people of Isoko North for the confidence reposed in him.
“I want to first of all thank God for this victory. It is indeed a thing of joy for the Isoko North PDP to bestow on me this honor and privilege to represent the party in the 2023 general elections for the Delta State House of Assembly.
“The election was free and fair delegates have voted their choice and I thank them for the massive support.
“To my fellow contestants, I thank them for their spirit of sportsmanship, today it’s my victory and tomorrow it could be their turn, so its a victory for all of us,” he stated.
