Politics Of Arrogation: The Frenzy Sense Of Accommodation Bane Of APC As A Party
“My Spiritual Perception Of President Mohammadu Buhari Brought Me To The All Progressives Congress (APC).”
“Why I have not bothered to complain much on the wrong meted out to me by the party is because there wasn’t a good alternative to the APC with Buhari at the head, and I had to contend with the presence of evil-minded society men who are known to sleep in graveyards, engaged in human sacrifices, and do all kinds of herbalism to get to positions they now occupy as those uncovered to be the persons conniving to make sure my name does not surface for any consideration for appointment all because I do not partake in their evilness.”
“Sadly enough, Not even was I given the benefit of being a delegate from my chapter on merit, and where I was assured by one who was in the position to accelerate that without even my asking to be one, because the money would exchange hands, during the National convention having just been denied the office of the national publicity secretary zoned to the South-South comprising my state, were those from my chapter who were less vibrant in terms of my commitment to events in the party at a particular level where I had carved a niche for myself at the time in question, allegedly made more than twenty million nairas each from the presidential aspirants vying, as a result of their attendant in Abuja. To date, the party had not been able to refund all the money I spent to pay for all that was required for eligibility to the convention.”
“Most people expected me to use my platform to attack opponents over resolvable issues, to show my commitment to give them a feeling of an edge that is purely psychological and premised on hate and segregation on the bases of “tribe and pettiness” that I found mundane and suggested reconciliation of the issues generated instead, against which I was called names for offering such suggestions meant to enhance a cohesive and intimidating team to be put forward In the contest to ensure a clear and easy win for us. But It boomerangs almost an albatross way down, golfing lots of money spent on a series of litigations that was quite unnecessary, if I was heeded to. Rather, I was tagged a traitor for that reason.”
– Obi Ojage.
We all wait as in vigil to see the next three months or what will be the outcome of all the wranglings and deception prevalent in the parties, all in an attempt to undo others to attain power or to retain the same, before and after the elections due next year, the Lord willing.
Only a few people truly understand or feel the dept of my spiritual content and Christ consciousness simply because they do not see me owning a church, parley with one, being called a Pastor or Reverend, and behaving sanctimoniously. But I am. And different in my make-up. I speak as though an Oracle. I hardly say or get involved with something that hasn’t the elements of truth or a semblance of it. It is no doubt that the majority of humans enjoy falsehood because it allows for compromises to be offered to shield the truth, especially one that is not in their favor.
That is exactly the missing line and the problems I often had with people especially those whom I term friends or those I attempt to cultivate a relationship with on the bases of truth and kindness to one another as a prerequisite for cohabitation. That’s the true essence of friendship, no more, no less.
The Holy Bible admonished us to be kind to our friend so that in times of need or hardship occasioned by lack of whatever it is we may be incapacitated to afford due to circumstances beyond us, we need not go to distant relations for such help, our “able friend” will surely take care of that. So friendship is very important.
You should frown seriously, on a friend who denies you the benefits of his success, especially when you need his help or assistance where he can afford it. That is not a friend. He or she is a partier and a pariah, keep away from such who calls you his friend. He is worse than an enemy.
We should remember that Jesus Christ of Nazareth calls us friends, to guarantee us compulsory access to his father who art in the void as a Ghost, the embodiment of everything that has value and life in it. I didn’t make this up, it is in the scriptures.
Many have argued that I am not cut out to be a politician. Because I am not aggressive in the fight for what is due to me where I have to undo others if it means doing so to become the preferred. But the question to ask is, who are those to be? Is it dishonest people or those who have exhibited selflessness with empathy as a virtue, exuding all manners of integrity and fear of the Lord?
The times are changing and so are the dynamics of politics and governance. It would soon involve sophistication in whatever one chooses to embark on to get the attention of those to assess the quality of those to lead them at whatever levels not the present method of man know the man as they say in broken English, or who you think would serve your narrow and selfish interest the most, which has brought Nigeria where it is today with all its resources and human endowments.
I am about the only person at my level of partisanship as well as professional competence and commitment to what I do, today as a member of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Cross River State; who has not been given any political appointment whatsoever with which to earn money to be used in carrying out political activities in support of the party, either as a national executive committee member of the party or an appointee of government, none.
I wonder if any of these persons around who parade themselves as politicians could be able to withstand what goes through or carry themselves stoutly, and be relevant in society the way I do, or do what I do, play the role I play to the admiration of the public, without their being given political appointment, huge and highly inflated contract jobs from which to make enormous money, or among those who just came out from enjoying an elective office of whatever dimensions where they had equally made a lot of money with ease which they now are using in sustaining themselves to look strong and determined to make contributions while still craving for more political positions or patronage, who, I am asking you, yes, you?
Sadly enough, Not even was I given the benefit of being a delegate from my chapter on merit, and where I was assured by one who was in the position to accelerate that without even my asking to be one, because the money would exchange hands, during the National convention having just been denied the office of the national publicity secretary zoned to the South-South comprising my state, were those from my chapter who were less vibrant in terms of my commitment to events in the party at a particular level where I had carved a niche for myself at the time in question, allegedly made more than twenty million nairas each from the presidential aspirants vying, as a result of their attendant in Abuja. To date, the party had not been able to refund all the money I spent to pay for all that was required for eligibility to the convention.
That alone was enough to through me off balance to question my continued stay at the party or seek my tent somewhere else, but I ignored it as nothing. As if nothing happened. That’s who I am when I am focused with my eyes set on a goal, I refuse to be distracted.
But which party man will agree to tolerate this when I was known everywhere in the party and on different social media platforms as one projecting my candidate with vehemence who was believed then by all to be the leading contender for the job and closest to scale the primaries and said to be a delight to the authorities who had reasons to insist on my inclusion for anything sake if my involvement in his project or campaign were put in perspective with regards to what I represented or meant to him at the time? And I made no fighting of it but chose to play along still.
No politician at my level of local involvement, identification, and activism would choose to remain silent where he is been shortchanged, despite all I have contributed for the party in the areas of public enlightenment of the party’s position on a variety of issues and my stout defense of the leadership both local and national including the current President of the country, General Mohammadu Buhari as a true party man, where I neither fake, claim what I am not or be big-mouthed.
Though radical in my tendencies in areas of my conviction, I am largely a humble and unassuming human spirit with an expansive knowledge of the deep things of the Lord. This is why people hardly see me at functions where I stay to take photographs to prove my popularity as most of my contemporaries does. I am not good at showing off or looking up or down at people. A lot of people both at the party and out of it who may have been reading my commentaries at different times, hardly know me in person because I rarely attend functions to which I have not been invited. And my enemies and adversaries, are happy that I am not often there.
Why I have not bothered to complain much on the wrongs meted out to me by the party, is because there wasn’t a good alternative to the APC with Buhari at the head, and I had to contend with the presence of evil-minded society men who are known to sleep in graveyards, engaged in human sacrifices, and do all kinds of herbalism to get to positions they now occupy as those uncovered to be the persons conniving to make sure my name does not surface for any consideration for appointment all because I do not partake in their evilness.
Most people expected me to use my platform to attack opponents over resolvable issues, to show my commitment to give them a feeling of an edge that is purely psychological and premised on hate and segregation on the bases of “tribe and pettiness” that I found mundane and suggested reconciliation of the issues generated instead, against which I was called names for offering such suggestions meant to enhance a cohesive and intimidating team to be put forward in the contest to ensure a clear and easy win for us. But It boomerangs almost an albatross way down, golfing lots of money spent on a series of litigations that was quite unnecessary, if I was heeded to. Rather, I was tagged a traitor for that reason.
So there’s a gang up to make sure I do not excel for fear that any position I hold will give me an edge over these lots. And so would it be also with the intensification of my capacity to expose the notoriety of their hidden activities of wickedness and greed, even though all that they might have gotten were through assistance from other people.
Every time I look around I see them miserable with their hearts occupied with hate and jealousy even when they’ve used every other means to fight against those like me and destroyed many Souls in the process to have what they flaunt around as bonafide, they still appear unsatisfied, an exhibition of restlessness and imperviousness towards the philosophy of change.
I Kept thanking the Lord for life and for who and what I have chosen to be. So I do not admire nor envy to vilify their actions in the name of partisan politics due to their ignorance of what real living life entails beyond hurting your fellow humans to achieve goals and smiling at the same time under the Lord’s sun and the moon.
For whatever it is worth, I still display my intellectual capacity to engage society and they’re so ashamed whenever they read my opinion on issues in the articles I publish variously on different platforms where I enjoy a large following of both the young and old, Christians and none Christians including intellectuals of all descriptions.
There is none today in my state who has as much influence on social media as I do, this is no boasting, even when I have resisted the temptation of commercializing my works which I do purely for political analysis of who is suitable for what, in defense of truth and evangelism were I engage in exposing the deep things of the Lord beyond what is read in the Holy Christian Bible which we all as Christians subscribers too and adore as the inspired words of the Almighty.
One in my class anywhere would ever have engaged in carrying out any professional work of projecting an aspirant as I do without a concrete agreement in place, particularly so, with the depth of my understanding and exposure in politics, being a politician myself who had attempted years ago at contesting election into the Federal House of Representatives way back in what was then the entire Calabar municipality, where I have full knowledge of most of those in politics of the state without the person paying in a huge amount of money to cover exigencies and the type of disappointment envisaged in the hands of those who may become dishonest under the false pretext or based on pressure from a bottom-feeder.
But the good thing with that which consoles me often when these occur is that these persons or institutions hardly succeed in those particular ventures not until there is restitution. I have seen it happen several times to those who try to circumvent or take advantage of me, where I am forced to withdraw because of who I am in the eye of society and I retire back to my shells, lament a bit and stay cool thereafter, and watch the unfolding events.
Everybody who has been following my trajectory and the political activities in my state on social media and other platforms knows that since the defection into the All Progressives Congress, (APC) by the current Governor from the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) I have been the only outspoken person amongst the old members who have been directly barraging the wrongdoings of newcomers, including the reluctance of the outgoing Governor to accommodate old members in his cabinet, and other areas to give those they came to meet a sense of belonging and integration to enhance coexistence of the two teammates or groups.
I used the various media platforms at my disposal to query the dominance of the new members who defected along with the governor over the old members who have been in the party long before they came, going through all odds to keep the party afloat. And I ended up being in the bad books of both the outgoing Governor and the current state Chairman who often openly behave hostile toward me whenever I demand to see him in the party’s office to require him the chairman of certain things I wish to know.
These have necessitated the chasm between myself and both of them while others who could comment were either political appointees or those who were hankering elective offices and thought opposing the Governor then, on any issue would mean forfeiting their chances of being supported. So I ended up paying the price alone to date.
I must say that I have nothing fundamentally going between myself and the outgoing governor who, I am pretty sure hadn’t seen me in person, invite me to dialogue on the way forward for one as enthusiastic as I am, nor render or extend any level of patronage to me as an active party man viewing all that I have been doing ever since he crossed over to meet us where he is now a bonafide All Progressives Congress, (APC) member and Governor.
But depriving me of government patronage in any way is my right both as a citizen and a known politician to enable me to survive the hard times fairly, even though not in the same way and manner most of them holding positions in government are been serviced, has been what I still do not phantom to date, given my healthy contributions of ideas towards highly controverted issues over which I do offer solutions most of which I know the governors as an intellectual, reads at his spare time, both in his space in my WhatsApp and on his platform known as “Ayade Advocate” where I feature prominently with more than three hundred persons reading me within two days of posting my works there.
however, I am sure I will be able to meet with our outgoing governor, the Lord willing when he is out of office in a few months. Where I will be able to tell him how badly I was treated during his regime. And so too were those who said there is an instruction from him to keep me asunder.
I have promised myself that I won’t leave politics for anyone. Rather it is they who would leave it for us who are independent-minded, highly committed to doing right, and are clear head about what we want in society, with the Lord on our side, all things are possible.
“These people are where they are, I am where I am. And the Lord is watching us. I have what it takes to live happily anywhere. But I must be here. I am in politics to help change society. I may ask because I deserve to be given. When I am not given my due, I don’t kill. I am not materialistic to fall an easy pray to these evil men’s overtures. My God controls the universe.”
I will bring part 2 of the series next week, the Lord willing, be rest assured.
