Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated renowned finance guru and politician, Olorogun Lucky Oghene-Omoru as he clocks 70 years on August 22.
The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, on Tuesday in Asaba, noted that Oghene-Omoru, a former civil commissioner in the defunct Bendel State and dedicated chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was a consummate politician and accomplished professional, who had contributed immensely to the growth and unity of the party and development of Delta and Edo States.
He commended the Orogun-born talented development economist and banker of repute for his keen efforts at attracting investments to Delta when he held sway as the pioneer Director-General of the Delta State Investment Development Agency (DIDA).
The Governor remarked that Oghene-Omoru’s contributions to the development of Delta and Edo States were very visible and laudable through his past services as a two-time Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Tourism and later Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning in the defunct Bendel State at 33 years of age.
He said: “As a renowned finance expert and political colossus with amiable disposition, you have remained ever supportive and a great leader and mentor to many members of our party and we appreciate you for your profound and unpretentious loyalty to the PDP.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta, I heartily rejoice with a reputable and reliable professional, Olorogun Lucky Oghene-Omoru, as he celebrates his 70th birth anniversary.
“As you attain this landmark birth anniversary, I am pleased to join your family, political associates and other well-wishers in thanking God for blessing you with strength and wisdom to serve the people of Delta and Nigeria.
“It is our prayer that God will continue to protect you and grant you good health to render more services to Him and our people.”
