In line with the worldwide thank you program of Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, the Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice & Democracy (NACJD) has announced plans for the 2024 Courageous Citizens Award (CCA) to recognise individuals who demonstrated exceptional bravery and commitment to democracy during the 2023 general elections.

NACJD announced its readiness to show appreciation to all Nigerians who stood for credible free and fair elections in the country at a press conference in Abuja and called for nominations.

Themed “Acts and Voices of Valor: Celebrating Uncommon Heroes of Democracy and Good Governance,” the award ceremony will honor individuals whose actions significantly contributed to fostering credible electoral processes and a better Nigeria.

Professor Edward Oparaoji, leader of the Coalition, stated that the CCA aims to shine a spotlight on unsung heroes who, despite adversity and danger, exhibited exceptional courage, resilience, and dedication to democratic principles.
