The former Anambra State Governor and leader of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi has mourned the death of Retired Lieutenant Colonial Hassan Stanlabo, describing him as a gallant and dedicated officer imbued with exceptional patriotism.
Obi in a condolence message delivered on his behalf to the family of the late military retirees by Dr Yunusa Tanko his 2023 Presidential campaign spokesperson further stated that the late Colonel was a fearless and courageous officer during his days in service.
“Nigeria has lost a truly detribalized Nigerian. We need more of his kind. He was selfless and humane. He has contacts and links across the country” Obi further stated
Obi who said he had desired to personally attend the funeral of the deceased former military officer to pay him his last respect regretted that for certain unforeseen circumstances he could not make it.
The Labour Party Leader prayed for the eternal repose of the deceased soul and equally and urged the family to be consoled by the enviable legacy their father left behind.
Late Colonel Hassan Stanlabo was buried in Lagos at the weekend with full military honours.
