Governor Oborevwori Celebrates Trailblazing Economist Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Milestone at 70
Delta State’s Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as she marks her 70th birthday today, June 13th.
In a statement from the capital city of Asaba, Governor Oborevwori lauds Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, a renowned Deltan and the first African woman at the helm of the WTO, for her exemplary professionalism, unwavering integrity, and her role as an inspirational figure for women everywhere.
The Governor praised the Director-General for her outstanding contributions to Nigeria and her influential role in the global financial landscape.
He highlighted her pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s economic policies during her tenure as Finance Minister, not once but twice.
Governor Oborevwori celebrated Dr. Okonjo-Iweala’s intellectual prowess and her expertise in international development, which have garnered international acclaim and numerous accolades.
