Eziani Residents Laud Igwe Ezenma’s Transformation Of The Autonomous Community

The entire residents of Eziani Autonomous Community (including Indigenes and Non-Indigenes, although the Fulanis were completely absent), have hailed the ongoing repositioning of the Community by the traditional ruler of the town, His Royal Highness, Igwe Anthony Ndidiamaka Ezenma.

The people, while appreciating the conscious efforts to make the Community work also hailed recent approval for more developmental projects in the town by the Igwe.

The commendation is coming on the heels of the recent security summit the Igwe convened in his palace at Eziani Ancient Kingdom recently.

Those who spoke on behalf of the Non-Indigenes, such as John Utazi, Chijioke Obetta, Chukwu Ape, Ikechukwu Eze, Mrs. Ezieke, Chinelo, Mrs. Benedict Ezeugwu (a.k.a. Madam B), Chukwuka Eze, Abraham Emmanuel, among others, extolled the Igwe’s commitment in transforming the Community towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities.

They commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for appointing Ezenma the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area Traditional Rulers’ Council, stressing that following the very robust strategy, clear and resolute vision of the traditional ruler, the sky would be their beginning in achieving peace and progress in the Community.

They also assured that they would continue the mutually -beneficial relationship that has existed between “us and our host Community”.

Earlier, Igwe Anthony Ezenma said that the meeting was anchored on security and asked, what do we do to know when a bad man comes into our midst? He pointed out that some people living in the community, they didn’t know what they were doing .

The essence of the meeting is to tell you what is allowed and what is not allowed to do here, stating that it was for the benefits of the people and not for him as the Igwe, adding that there would be need for an association amongst the people so that even if I maltreat any of you, the association can come and discuss with me.

He immediately inaugurated the association with the first seed-money of three hundred thousand naira he donated to them, noting that this would enhance security and association with each other. Igwe Ezenma said, he did not want case and that any civil case would be settled by him and his cabinet, while criminal case goes to security agencies.

He intimated that before you invite anyone to your house, you let us know, adding that there are people who bring people (criminals) and keep in their house, assuring them that no indigene can intimidate a stranger and no stranger can intimidate an indigene.

Igwe Ezenma, after listening to their requests approved electricity for where it hasn’t reached, approved market establishment in the community and charged the President – General (PG), Charles Onyema to get bulldozer to where there’s an erosion problem and halt it, saying that for electricity bills, we would always interface with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company.

On the issue of security, he also directed the PG to draft some people to increase the manpower needs there.

The Area Commander, Nigeria Police, Nsukka, Mr. Hassan Yahaya was represented by the administration officer, Mr. Placcidius Ugwu and the Divisional Police Officer were there during the meeting. They pledged to assist the community for security checks.
