Abure’s Pyrrhic Victory: Labour Party NTC Exposes Fraudulent Court Judgment, Warns Aspirants of Electoral Doom
The Labour Party National Transition Committee (NTC) has issued a public disclaimer, exposing Julius Abure’s fraudulent court victory and warning of electoral doom for party aspirants who participate in his congresses and primaries.
According to the NTC, Abure’s court case was a “Nollywood drama” staged with his proxy friend, Lawrence Erewele, to procure a favourable judgment from an unsuspecting judge, Justice J.K. Omotosho. The NTC explained that Abure deliberately excluded the Labour Party NTC from the suit to ensure an uncontested victory.
The NTC warned that for avoidance of doubt, His Lordship Justice Omotosho’s very words are quoted inter alia:
“In the final analysis, this court CANNOT exercise jurisdiction over this suit being an internal affairs matter of a political party… Where the court assumes jurisdiction over the suit (if the court were to even assume jurisdiction), the suit has no merit. Consequently, it is hereby dismissed.”, the court ruled.
“So, where did Julius Abure and his Nnewi group derive their celebration of victory, except from cannabis delirium and delusion?
“…Unfortunately for Abure, Clement Ojukwu and their trading partners, and providentially for our long suffering party, the diligent and erudite Justice K.K. Omotosho did not fall for their pranks and trap”, the NTC said.
The Committee pointed out that Justice Omotosho’s ruling explicitly stated that the court lacked jurisdiction over the internal party matter and dismissed the case. The NTC argued that this dismissal means the case never had legal standing, rendering Abure’s celebration of victory baseless.
The NTC alleged that Abure’s motive was to use the court judgment as a cover to conduct lucrative congresses and elections across Nigeria, despite knowing that these exercises would be nullified by the courts, just like in Zamfara and Plateau states.
The Labour Party NTC also warned all party members and aspirants to avoid participating in Abure’s congresses and primaries, as they would be nullified by the courts.
The NTC disclosed that it is preparing a blueprint for constituting Labour Party State Transition Committees (LP STC) for all 36 states and Abuja FCT, towards nationwide state congresses and an expansive national convention.
The Labour Party NTC has called on party members and aspirants to reject Abure’s fraudulent activities and support the NTC’s efforts to build a stronger, more inclusive Labour Party.
