Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property in the state. Despite facing some security challenges in certain areas, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that the state remains peaceful.

During a courtesy visit from the State Executive of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), led by State Chairman, Bishop Kingsley Enakhireri, at Government House, Asaba, the Governor expressed gratitude for the support and prayers of Deltans. He acknowledged the primary purpose of government as stated in Section 14(2b) of the 1999 Constitution, which prioritizes the security and welfare of the people.

Governor Oborevwori attributed the relative peace in the state during the ongoing national protests to the collective efforts of all stakeholders, including prayers from the church. He commended the PFN and other religious and cultural leaders for their contributions to maintaining peace in the state.State Chairman, Bishop Kingsley Enakhireri, at Government House, Asaba

The Governor also addressed criticisms from the opposition, stating that some individuals were attempting to take credit for the peaceful protests in the state. He emphasized that the peaceful atmosphere was a result of collaborative efforts and prayers, rather than any single entity.

Additionally, Governor Oborevwori expressed condolences for the passing of Olorogun Taleb Tebite, Executive Director Projects on the board of DESOPADEC, describing his death as unfortunate. He noted that the State Government had provided support during his health challenge.

Bishop Enakhireri, in his remarks, pledged the unalloyed and unflinching support of the PFN to Governor Oborevwori’s administration. He commended the Governor’s wisdom in managing the state’s affairs, particularly during the ongoing national protests. The State PFN Chairman also invited the Governor to their upcoming Annual Prayer and Thanksgiving on August 22 and condoled with him on the passing of Hon. Taleb Tebite.
