TWIN TRAGEDY: Bandits Wreak Havoc in Kaduna and Sokoto, Leaving Trail of Death and Destruction
In a devastating 24 hours, bandits have unleashed terror on two Nigerian states, leaving a trail of death, destruction, and despair. In Kaduna State, Galadimawa Village in Igabi Local Government Area was attacked, resulting in the abduction of the village head’s wife and two children.
The bandits, who stormed the residence in large numbers, were seeking to kidnap the village head but took his family members instead.
Meanwhile, in Sokoto State, the son of the late District Head of Gatawa, Alhaji Kabir Isa, has been released after the payment of a N60 million ransom and five motorcycles.
His father, Isa Muhammad Bawa, died in captivity on Tuesday, and his brother was also abducted 25 days ago. The late emir’s son is currently receiving treatment at Usman Danfodio Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.
The attacks highlight the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, with bandits seemingly operating with impunity.
The Galadimawa community is appealing to the government to intervene and save them from the relentless attacks, while the Sokoto State government is mourning the loss of a prominent traditional ruler.
The incidents have left many questions unanswered, including the government’s response to the growing insecurity and the measures being taken to protect citizens from these attacks.
As the country grapples with these challenges, one thing is clear: the people of Nigeria deserve better.
