South East Group Celebrates Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s Ministerial Swearing-in, Calls for End to Zone’s Neglect
The South East Revival Group (SERG) has congratulated Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu on her recent appointment as Minister, praising her exceptional diplomatic skills and commitment to Nigeria’s development while calling for an end to the marginalization of the region.
The group said that as a seasoned diplomat and respected daughter of the South East, Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s track record of service and wealth of experience will undoubtedly be invaluable in her new role.
“This appointment is a testament to her exceptional diplomatic skills and her unwavering commitment to the development of Nigeria,” said Hon. Agu Chineme, Publicity Secretary of SERG.
According to the group, “Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu is a seasoned diplomat and one of the most respected daughters of the South East. She has distinguished herself through various appointments she has held in the past, including her roles as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and Spain.”
The SERG appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s capabilities and appointing her as a minister in his cabinet. However, the group also expressed concern that the South East of Nigeria has remained marginalized by the current administration, just like the previous All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
“It is imperative that the government takes concrete steps to end the marginalization of the South Eastern Nigeria to ensure even development across the country,” emphasized Hon. Agu Chineme. While Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s appointment is a step in the right direction, the group noted that more needs to be done to address the longstanding issues of neglect and underdevelopment in the South East.
The SERG calls on the government to prioritize the region’s development and ensure its people are given equal opportunities to contribute to the nation’s growth.
The group expressed confident that Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s dedication, experience, and vision will bring positive changes to Nigeria’s foreign relations and enhance the country’s image on the global stage.
