Suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, recently welcomed the Muslim community under the aegis of the Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs during a Sallah visit.
The meeting served as an opportunity for mutual reflection, prayers, and a reaffirmation of shared values as Muslims celebrate this year’s Eid-al-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan.
Governor Fubara expressed his gratitude for the prayers offered by the Muslim community for him and his family. “Today, I received the Muslim community in Rivers State under the aegis of Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs who came on a Sallah visit. They used the opportunity to pray for me and my family,” he shared.
The governor also took the occasion to emphasize his administration’s commitment to fostering unity and inclusivity in the state. “It was also a good time to reassure them of our hope in God and our determination to actualize a greater future for our dear State,” he stated.
In a show of solidarity, the Muslim community declared their unwavering support for Governor Fubara’s government. Responding to this gesture, the governor pledged to uphold justice and equality for all. “We promise to continue working to uphold a society where no one or any religion will be oppressed as we stand for what is right and just,” he affirmed.
