The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, is set to hold the inaugural edition of its Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Lecture Series.
The event, scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, 2025, will focus on the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Finding the Balance between Advancement and Ethical Considerations.”
The lecture will take place at the Mini Convocation Arena of the university at 11:00 a.m. and will feature Professor Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh, Vice-Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-deen University, Ilorin, as the guest speaker.
KWASU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, will serve as the Chief Host, while the Dean of the Faculty of ICT, Professor Isiakaa Zubair Aliagan, will play a key role in coordinating the event. Additionally, Dr. Ronke S. Babatunde, of the Department of Computer Science, is the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee.
The lecture aims to explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence in the higher education sector while addressing the ethical implications that come with rapid technological advancements. With AI becoming increasingly integrated into academic research, teaching, and learning, the discussion is expected to provide valuable insights into maintaining a balance between innovation and responsible AI implementation.
