Kogi State Reaffirms Commitment to Transform College of Education (Technical), Mopa

The Kogi State Government has reiterated its dedication to advancing education through the comprehensive transformation of the Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Mopa, located in Mopa Muro Local Government Area. This reaffirmation reflects the administration’s vision of positioning the state as Nigeria’s hub of educational excellence.
During a meeting held in Lokoja on Monday, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comrade Joel Salifu, hosted the Provost and management team of the College. The visit served as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the institution and the state government toward achieving the College’s transformative goals.
In a statement released by Mr. Unubi Emmanuel, the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Comrade Salifu expressed his administration’s unwavering support for the College’s leadership and its newly appointed Provost, Dr. Muhammed Kebiru Ibrahim. The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of cooperation between the government and the management team in elevating the institution to greater heights.
“The vision of the Advance New Direction Government, led by Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is to make Kogi the educational hub of our nation,” Salifu stated. He urged the College’s management to fully support Dr. Kebiru, lauding his efforts in revitalizing the College’s fortune in line with the principle of “One Kogi State.” Salifu further noted that the administration’s agenda prioritizes inclusivity and unity, ensuring that the people of the state benefit collectively from its educational initiatives.
Highlighting the Provost’s impressive track record, the Deputy Governor pointed to Dr. Kebiru’s exceptional performance at the State College of Education Ankpa as evidence of his dedication and skill. Salifu advised him to continue serving as an ambassador for Kogi State, modeling his leadership approach on Governor Ododo’s detribalized and visionary governance. Salifu described the Governor as a leader whose acumen has consistently fostered unity and progress within the state.
The Deputy Governor also extended congratulations to Dr. Kebiru on his recent appointment, while assuring him of his office’s availability for consultations and ongoing support. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing the necessary resources and advocacy needed for the College’s transformation.
In response, the newly appointed Provost, Dr. Muhammed Kebiru Ibrahim, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the institution. He highlighted the purpose of his visit, which was to inform the Deputy Governor of his appointment and to reaffirm his dedication to the advancement of education in the state.
Dr. Kebiru pledged to draw on the skills and experiences he acquired in his previous role to drive positive changes at the College. “We are committed to rewriting the narrative of the College of Education (Technical), Mopa,” he remarked, calling for increased government support to facilitate the transformation process. He stressed the need for continuous collaboration and advocacy to ensure that the College reaches its full potential as a beacon of technical education and innovation.
