Officials of the Enugu State Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) recently paid a familiarization visit to the Nsukka Area Command, where they engaged members in a series of enlightening security talks aimed at strengthening collaboration between the police and the public.

The event, which took place at the Sports Club, Nsukka, drew about 60 participants, including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Nsukka Division, and leaders of the Area Command.

Four PCRC officials delivered extensive presentations on the crucial responsibilities of members in relation to the Area Commander (AC) and Divisional Police Officers, as well as their roles within the committee and in the larger community. The sessions underscored the PCRC’s core mission of acting as a bridge between the police and the public, while equipping members with knowledge to better serve their divisions.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the PCRC, Nsukka Area Command, expressed gratitude for the initiative, commending the visiting team for their commitment to grassroots security engagement. He encouraged more of such interactive sessions, noting that members regularly require updated guidance to enhance their work in supporting the police.

The visiting officials, in turn, thanked the Area Command for the warm reception and reaffirmed their dedication to fostering mutual trust and cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the people of Enugu State.

The familiarization tour, participants agreed, would serve as a foundation for stronger synergy in tackling security challenges at the community level.
