The All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU) has hailed the remarkable efforts of Angolan businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Agostinho Kapaia, for his unwavering commitment to empowering young people and driving job creation across Africa.

In a groundbreaking initiative, Dr. Kapaia, through his company OPAIA Group and in partnership with the National Youth Council (CNJ), has facilitated the creation of 2,700 new jobs for young people in Angola.

These opportunities are being rolled out as part of a larger project at the OPAIA car assembly factory, which has a total employment capacity of 3,000.

On Thursday, a delegation of students and youth visited the factory to see firsthand the operational scope and the opportunities that are being provided. Under the collaboration, the CNJ will refer qualified young candidates for the 2,700 positions, ensuring that Angolan youth benefit directly from the employment initiative.

Expressing his delight, His Excellency Osisiogu Osikenyi E., President of AASU, praised the development as a significant milestone for youth empowerment, noting that the commitment of Dr. Kapaia to creating meaningful employment not only enhances the economic prospects of young Angolans but also provides a continental model that demonstrates how the private sector can drive sustainable development and transform lives.

He further commended the outstanding advocacy of Isaias Kalunga, President of CNJ Angola, whose dedication to championing young people made the partnership possible, while also recognizing Maravilha Kapaia, CEO of OPAIA Foundation, for her immense efforts in empowering young people in Angola and across Africa.

According to him, their combined vision and leadership, alongside the dedication of Dr. Agostinho Kapaia, are generating tangible opportunities that inspire the entire continent.

The All-Africa Students’ Union urged African leaders and innovators in the business sector to emulate this example, stressing that inclusive economic growth and sustainable pathways for young people to thrive are essential for the continent’s progress.
