The Obidient Movement has issued an urgent alert alleging irregularities in the display of election results on the IREV server, calling on its supporters and Nigerians to remain vigilant and peacefully monitor ongoing collation processes of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, area council election.
In a press statement signed by Dr Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of Obidient Movement Global, the group disclosed that information reaching its headquarters indicates that the IREV server is active but not displaying results that were reportedly uploaded successfully from various polling units.
The statement expressed concern over the discrepancy, noting that results from multiple polling units were said to have been transmitted but are not currently visible on the portal.
Consequently, the movement encouraged all Obidients and concerned Nigerians to remain alert and vigilant in order to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process. It further urged supporters, where necessary, to peacefully proceed to the Area 10 office of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Abuja and the Karu collation centre to observe developments in the collation process.
The group emphasized the importance of lawful conduct, advising citizens to ensure they are in possession of accurate results from their respective polling units for proper verification during the collation exercise.
While raising the alarm, the Obidient Movement appealed for calm, stressing that all actions must remain peaceful and within the bounds of the law.
“Let us remain calm, law-abiding, and committed to protecting the integrity of the electoral process through peaceful and lawful means,” the statement read.
Reaffirming its reformist mantra, the movement concluded with a rallying call: “Arise and shine, Nigeria — for a New Nigeria is Possible.”
