โฆPray Fervently for a Glorious Conclusion of the Lenten Observance
The Knights, Ladies, and Youths of Saint Mulumba (KSM, LSM, and YSM) gathered at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nyanya, Abuja, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, as part of activities marking the Lenten season.
The celebration was led by the Worthy Grand Knight, Sir Hyacinth Ekpokoba, alongside the LSM President, Lady Stella Makpu, in a solemn and spiritually uplifting observance of Palm Sunday.
Delivering his homily, the Parish Priest, Very Rev. Fr. Louis Duniya, emphasized the significance of the day, highlighting Jesus Christโs triumphant entry into Jerusalem as a powerful symbol of peace and humility.
Fr. Duniya noted that Christโs choice to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey defied the expectations of the people, who had anticipated a political saviour. Instead, he demonstrated a kingdom founded on humility and peace. He urged the faithful to reflect deeply on the true meaning of Palm Sunday, stressing the virtues of loyalty, humility, and peaceful living.
Drawing connections between Palm Sunday and the Passion narrative, the priest underscored Christโs mission of salvation for humanity. Referencing the prophetic messages of Isaiah and Zechariah, he reminded the congregation that Christโs kingdom is rooted in love and peace.
He also cautioned against the pursuit of vain glory, pointing to Judas Iscariotโs betrayal as a warning, and encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in faith and trust in Godโs divine plan. He concluded with prayers for a spiritually enriching Holy Week and a meaningful Easter celebration.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout of members of the Knights of Saint Mulumba, the Ladies of Saint Mulumba, and the Youth wing, led by its President, Stephen Omoja (Jnr), alongside other members of the church community.
The gathering reaffirmed the shared commitment of the faithful to the values and mission of the Order, as the community prepares to celebrate Easter with renewed spiritual devotion.
