A development strategist and former federal lawmaker, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Alphonsus Ubanesse Igbeke, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and the diaspora, urging renewed faith, sacrifice, and commitment to national development.
In a goodwill message to mark the Easter celebration, Senator Igbeke called on Nigerians to reflect deeply on the life, suffering, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that the season presents an opportunity for spiritual renewal and collective responsibility.
“Let us reflect on the remarkable life and legacy of Jesus Christ and the pains He passed through for mankind,” he stated, emphasizing the need for citizens to draw inspiration from Christ’s sacrifice in building a more just and progressive society.
The former legislator, who served in both chambers of the National Assembly, attributed his personal and professional achievements to divine grace, describing it as a guiding force in his journey of leadership and service. He added that the teachings and example of the Risen Christ continue to shape his vision for a better Nigeria.
Senator Igbeke, who currently serves as Financial and Lead Consultant to the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has also played a prominent role in Nigeria’s energy sector. As Chairman of the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP)/ALGON Technical Working Group, he contributed to efforts aimed at deepening gas utilization and driving economic growth.
Widely regarded as a philanthropist and community builder, Igbeke has remained actively engaged in various public and private sector initiatives, serving on the boards of several institutions across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies. His contributions, stakeholders say, have impacted countless lives and strengthened grassroots development.
He reiterated his commitment to advancing policies and partnerships that foster sustainable development, while encouraging Nigerians, particularly the younger generation, to embrace excellence, integrity, and service to humanity.
“As we celebrate Easter, let us recommit ourselves to the ideals of love, sacrifice, and unity, which are essential for national transformation,” he added.
Senator Igbeke’s message comes at a time when Christian faithful across the country commemorate the resurrection of Christ, a cornerstone of the Christian faith symbolizing hope, redemption, and new beginnings.
