The Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has called on Nigerians to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, patience, unity, and devotion as Muslims across the country celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Adha.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the Islamic festival, Dr. Matawalle extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful and all Nigerians, urging citizens to continue promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual understanding for the progress and stability of the nation.
The minister described Eid-El-Adha as a period that reminds humanity of the importance of selflessness, obedience to God, and national unity, stressing that these values remain critical to Nigeria’s development and cohesion.
According to him, the Federal Government remains committed to safeguarding the territorial integrity of the country in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Matawalle assured Nigerians of his continued dedication, alongside the Armed Forces and other security agencies, to strengthening national security and protecting lives and property across the country.
He also paid tribute to members of the Armed Forces for their courage, resilience, and sacrifices in defending the nation against security threats.
“I salute the courage and dedication of our troops who continue to make sacrifices in defence of our nation and its people,” he stated.
The minister further prayed for lasting peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria, expressing optimism that the spirit of Eid-El-Adha would inspire greater national unity and harmony among citizens.
