BREAKING: Another Wanted Boko Haram Terrorist Arrested in Adamawa
A day after one of Nigeria’s 100 most wanted Boko Haram terrorists was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport, Abuja as he was boarding a passenger plane to Lagos, another wanted insurgent leader has been arrested in Adamawa State.
The suspect was arrested on Tuesday morning.
The Boko Haram Jihadist, identified as Ishaku Wardifen, was nabbed by vigilant troops of 23 Brigade Special Battalion at a check point in Maiha, in the state.
According to a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, preliminary interrogation “revealed that the suspected terrorist is a Cameroonian citizen.
“Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists wanted list released by the Nigerian military last month, shows that he clearly resemble the suspect on serial number 22 on the list”, he said.
The suspect has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution.
While appealing to Nigerians, Colonel Usman added: “Nigerian Army would like to once more call on all citizens and all well-meaning residents of our country to continue to be more vigilant and security conscious to enable us rid our great nation of the menace of terrorism and insurgency.”
