*Says Buhari’s Government a Failure
A renowned human rights activist, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman has tackled the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed for blaming the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the cause of the current Petroleum crisis after seven months of leaving office, which made the Nigeria to be experiencing the long queue at the Petrol Station across the country, urging the federal government spokesperson to accept the failure of the present administration in its inability to proffer the lasting solution to the Pump Motor Spirit hardship facing by Nigeria which increased the price of transport fares for the common masses of the nation.
The rights activist also tackled the Professor of Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Professor Itse Sagay for telling Dr Jonathan to go and confess his sins while held forth as Nigeria President for current President, General Muhammadu Buhari(rtd) over the alleged $2,1billion arms scandal which the later was beneficiary of the part of the fund indirectly.
Reacting to the statement credited to the two personalities in the Media, through a signed statement by Comrade Sulaiman, which a copy was made available to newsmen in Lagos yesterday, told Muhammed that the failure of the President Muhamadu Buahri’s administration and lack of economy direction brought present untold hardship to Nigeria masses as a result of insensitivity of the Federal Government to find the lasting solution to long fuel queues being experienced by Nigerians at the Petrol stations across the country.
Sulaiman who is the Executive Chairman, Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), described Muhammed and Sagay as bird of the same feather flock together on the same page with the intoxication incumbent President in office, warning them against mislead the public by apportioning blame on Jonathan for President Buhari’s failure to perform in office, urging Buhari’s government to stop using former President as an excuse for non performance in office.
He said, “It was a shame on the part of Alhaji Lai Muhammed that President Muhammadu Buhari that promised heaven and earth during the electioneering campaign in January to March this year, could not
fulfill a single promise in almost seven months into four years tenure of office than to say that Nigeria should be prepared for hard time in 2016.What kind of government is this? Government without bearing.
“It is also heinous, evil, undemocratic and ungodly for a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to say that Nigerians are paying for the sins of former President when the present administration can not
show way forward to Nigerians. By now, the present administration of President Buhari should forget about the administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and put Nigeria on the pedestrian of change mantra
being promised during the electioneering campaign process. Four years tenure of office will soon lapse without having any tangible thing to show for it and success of the present administration is paramount to every Nigerians”.
Speaking further on Sagay, Sulaiman declared that it has been on record that nobody could query any fund being spent by the executive arm of government under the security vote, adding that if President
Buhari wanted to probe security vote of Jonathan’s administration, it means “other past leaders would have their security vote to be probed”.
CHRSJ boss reiterated the position of the group to ensure that the menace of corruption in any form should be stamped out in the shore of the country, urging the present administration to leave Dr Jonathan out of the present arm deal saga. The Street Reporters Newspaper is your BREAKING NEWS platform.
