SHIITE CLERIC BANS DAKUKU FROM KANO

… Amaechi pleads to “correct his mistake before 2019”
Just weeks after the supreme court judgement which upheld Nyesom Wike’s election as Rivers state governor, the house of APC in Rivers state is already self imploding.
Our latest findings has it that Transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi has dropped Dakuku Peterside, the defeated APC candidate from his 2019 considerations. This must not be unconnected to the way he Dakuku said the APC should monitor Kano Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduge for “anti-parry activities” because he visited Governor Nyesom Wike.
Amaechi while in Kano to put finishing touches to the 100 days in office of his assumption as minister was accosted by angry Shiite Muslims loyal to the governor to warn Dakuku Peterside to be careful of his utterances. The cleric told Amaechi in his palace in Kano that Dakuku Pererside remains “a perona-non-grata” and that he should better stay away from Kano state until tensions are low.
Amaechi begged on Dakuku’s behalf and assured the cleric that Dakuku must have been quoted out of context since he Dakuku has “northern blood in him” and will not do anything to sabotage the north. He continued “however I promise to correct my mistake before 2019 and we will not have such problems again.
Observers see that statement to mean that Amaechi has concluded plans to finally drop Dakuku from his 2019 plans. Desperate to remain relevant in the President Buhari administration, Amaechi can’t stand Dakuku spoil his relationship with the north.
Recall that on two previous occassions Amaechi had termed Dakuku “a long term baggage” and is preparing NDDC acting MD, Ibim Seminatari to pick the APC ticket in 2019.
