DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA — A major diplomatic and economic initiative aimed at deepening business ties between West and East Africa is unfolding in Tanzania as the Future Africa Trade & Investment Expo (FATI Expo) Project Team begins strategic engagements with the Nigeria-Tanzania Business Forum in Dar es Salaam.
The FATI Expo delegation, led by renowned tourism development and investment promoter and Project Director of FATI Expo, Amb. Phil Roberts (FCISM, FIHSD), arrived in Dar es Salaam to advance discussions towards a strategic partnership designed to create new opportunities for Nigerian and Tanzanian businesses, investors and tourism stakeholders.
The high-level engagement has entered executive boardroom discussions, where representatives of both sides are working to finalise the terms of the proposed partnership.
According to the FATI Expo Project Team, a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony is scheduled for today, signalling a potentially significant milestone in Nigeria-Tanzania economic and diplomatic relations.
The proposed alliance is expected to provide a platform for enhanced cross-border investment, tourism promotion and business development, while strengthening private-sector collaboration between the two countries and creating wider opportunities across West and East Africa.
The initiative is being driven under the broader FATI Expo vision of promoting trade, investment, partnership and prosperity across Africa.
The engagement also aligns with the activities of NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs, whose partnership with FATI Expo is focused on empowering young people and driving sustainable economic growth.
The unfolding development comes against the backdrop of growing calls for stronger intra-African trade and investment partnerships capable of reducing barriers to business expansion and creating opportunities for African enterprises to access new markets.
For the FATI Expo team, the Nigeria-Tanzania engagement represents more than a bilateral business meeting, but a strategic step towards building stronger economic bridges across Africa.
The anticipated MoU is expected to establish a framework for cooperation in key areas including investment, tourism, entrepreneurship and business development, with potential benefits extending beyond Nigeria and Tanzania to other markets within the West and East African regions.
With executive-level negotiations ongoing in Dar es Salaam, stakeholders are now awaiting the outcome of the proposed signing ceremony and the concrete initiatives that may emerge from the new partnership.
The FATI Expo Project Team said full coverage and further updates on the historic engagement would follow.
