The Enugu State Commissioner of Police (CP) Nwodibo Ekechukwu has been redeployed, Daily Trust reports.

Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olabisi Kolawole confirmed the redeployment of the CP.

She said he has been replaced by the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu.

Asked if the decision to redeploy the Commissioner is related to recent farmers and herders clash in the area, Kolawole pointed out that the police occasionally redeploy its senior officers, noting that this is not related to the farmers and herders clash in the state.
