PMNN Wants NCPF to Assimilate Everyone Born Within Its Territory
The Peoples Movement for a New Nigeria (PMNN), led by Alhaji Yahaya Ndụ has urged the North Central Peoples Forum (NCPF) to announce that its membership is open to and includes all those who were born within its territory regardless of the ethnicity or nationality of their parents.
Alhaji Ndụ in a statement issued recently noted that NCPF has “an opportunity to lead the way to national unity, security of lives and properties and development of Nigeria as a whole.”
He observed that Nigeria as “a land of abundance in terms of human and material resources is today not at ease at all and insecurity, unemployment, ethnic unrest, immorality, ungodliness and all manner of societal vices are rampant.”
The rest of the statement reads “The NCPF has a unique opportunity to lead other socio political organizations such as the ACF, Ọhaneze, PANDEF, AFENIFERE in enhancing national unity, providing security and development of the nation in all ramifications.
“In almost all countries on earth today there is something known as nationality by birth.
“In any nation that I know of all-over the world a child automatically acquires the citizenship of the nation where he or she is born.
“The new NCPF should call a press conference and announce that it’s membership is open to and includes all who are born within their territory regardless of the ethnicity or nationality of their parents.
“The organization should also call on the Ọhaneze, PANDEF, ACF and AFENIFERE to do likewise, that should be the number one step to be taken to enhance and forge national unity in Nigeria beyond semantics and sloganeering.
“Recently a former President of Nigeria warned that the nation was on the verge of disintegration and collapse and he is receiving support from many organizations.
“The NCPF can and should lead the way in providing practical solutions to the challenges confronting the country.
“Right now the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is collecting memorandum from members of the public in pursuance of it’s intention towards the review of the extant 1999 constitution of Nigeria, the NCPF should send a memorandum on this initiative and should suggest that any socio political organizations such as the NCPF, OHANEZE, PANDEF, AFENIFERE that refuse to accommodate Nigerians born within their operational territories should be proscribed and banned.
“The NCPF should go beyond that and appoint other Nigerians whose parents were from other parts of the country but who are born in the north central as member even of it’s Executive”, he said.
