Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated his Chief of Staff, Chief David Edevbie, on his 57th birth anniversary. 

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, the governor thanked Edevbie, who was Commissioner for Finance in his first term, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the state.

He acknowledged Edevbie’s contribution to financial reforms in the state while as Commissioner for Finance from 1999-2006 and from 2015-2019, saying it was remarkable. 

According to him, Edevbie, a technocrat-turned politician, brought his international financial exposure to bear on the State’s finances during the periods. 

The governor also lauded the celebrant for his urbane and charming disposition to the discharge of his responsibility as Chief of Staff, Government House, noting that he was well prepared and experienced enough for the office. 

“My dear Chief of Staff, Olorogun David Edevbie, you have over the years continued to offer genuine leadership at various levels of governance and I urge you to remain unrelenting in your service to to the state and country. 

“We appreciate the various professional advice you have provided for the government at different times and we can’t thank you enough. 

“By dint of hardwork and discipline, you have continued to carve a niche for yourself by maintaining a charismatic and untainted leadership style that has endeared you to many Deltans and Nigerians. 

“Your commitment to doing things differently as it is in developed climes are some of the worthy and commendable traits that have exemplified your service over the years. 

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you, my dear brother and friend, David, on the occasion of your 57th birth anniversary. 

“As you celebrate, it is my prayer that God will continue to bless you with good health and wisdom to continue serving mankind,” he stated.
