NSE Commends Julius Berger on Quality Services, Seeks Support for Building National Engineering Centre Annex
The Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch, Engr. Ukeme Okpob MNSE has described the services delivered by Julius Berger Nigeria PLC as top-notch and qualitative to sustain the economic development in the Akwa Ibom State.
Engr Okpob Stated this when he led Executive Committee Members and Senior Engineers of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch to a courtesy visit with management of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC at Itam Industrial Layout, Uyo.
Engr. Okpob commended on a trusting commitment of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC on social responsibility in Akwa Ibom State and appealed to Julius Berger management to support the building of National Engineering Centre Annex in Uyo.
“We inform you about our fund launch for the National Engineering Centre Annex, Uyo, as His Excellency the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State has graciously approved and allocated plot 6 Residential/Commercial Layout Atan Offot Uyo for the proposed Secretariat. This structure when completed will be an All-purpose Hall, which will serve as our meeting hall, provide appropriate accommodation for our planned Professional development activities, and even International
Workshops and Conferences/ Exhibitions.”
Engr. Okpob also called on Julius Berger Nigeria PLC to engage and employ professional Engineers from Akwa Ibom State, admit students for internship and release staffers for COREN, NSE Conferences etc.
“The Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch have Professionals who can work in conceptualization and execution of any infrastructural works and I would like to take this opportunity to call on your organization to always look inwards within the state and engage our very resourceful professionals to be offered employment in your offices and works sites”.
Responding, the management of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC represented by Engr. Kehinde Bakare appreciated the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Uyo Branch for the visit and promised to communicate the request to head office in Abuja.
He said Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has consistently sponsored its staffers to attend professional development including COREN, NSE Conferences, training, seminar and workshop.
He added that Julius Berger Nigeria PLC has put on its best to employ and train resourceful professionals from the state, some have been moved to work in another state.
Engr. Bakare stressed that the company is doing its best to provide quality services to the State and has opened up opportunity for students to come in for industrial training.
The courtesy visit featured presentation of letter of invitation for the upcoming COREN Assembly which is to take place in Abuja on August, 2021 to the management of Julius Berger Nigeria PLC for all Engineers as well as
