Court Hearing on Bash Ali’s defamation Suit Against Minister of Sports Sunday Dare Begins in Abuja Monday
The Street Reporters Newspaper has reliable gathered that the first court hearing on a lawsuit in a case between the world cruiserweight boxing champion, Bash Ali (OON), Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Sunday Dare, and the Federal Government of Nigeria comes on Monday for hearing.
According a notice by the Head of Communications and Publicity for the Bash Ali Guinness World Records Boxing Project, Harry Agina, the matter comes up at the Federal High Court Abuja on Monday December, 6, 2021 at about 9am.
The first defendant, Sunday Dare, is charged with defamation of the character of the world cruiserweight boxing champion, Bashiru (Bash) Ali, OON, and the consequent loss of wages.
Hearing on the lawsuit begins at Court 4 of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, sitting in Abuja on the case number ABJ/CS/1231/2021.
Bashir Ali, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Cruiserweight champion, prides himself as the only boxer to win every cruiserweight boxing title ever conceived.
The former World Boxing Federation (WBF) Cruiserweight champion had blamed corruption and bad administration for the delay of his much-awaited Guinness World Record fight in Nigeria that could earn him the oldest boxer in the world to win a world title.
Bash Ali in 1985 became the first World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight boxing champion of African extraction.
For about 16 years, the cruiserweight boxer has been carrying out a campaign to place himself and Nigeria on the Guinness World Record as the oldest boxer.
