The recently held Enugu stste Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward Congresses on the 30th of April, 2022 has been described as a huge success by the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), Enugu State chapter.

A statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Hon (Dr) Afam Samuel Ani, JP, and the Secretary, Hon. Aduaka Anthony reads:

Our executives and members commend the process and described as very peaceful.

This assertion was corroborated by the Enugu State Electoral Committee from the National Secretariat of the People Democratic Party (PDP) for conduct of the ward congresses who described the exercise monitored by INEC as peaceful and transparent.

The leader of the committee Prince Victor Yandev Amaabai during their assessment said and we quote; “We are going round to supervise and see what you people are doing. Coming here we can see that you people are well organised and peaceful”.

To us in CNPP, this is an attestation to the already much stated peace in Enugu state. The peaceful atmosphere the state was even extended to the conduct of the ward congresses contrary to an earlier claim by political miscreants that there is no peace in the state PDP.

As if this is not enough, he went ahead to say and we quote: “l want to tell you people again that the National Secretariat of our party has so much respect for PDP in Enugu state under the leadership of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi”
Nothing could be more suiting and commendable of our dear, able, amiable and peace loving Governor than this.

And to put the icing sugar on the cake of the ward congresses, he finally said and we quote; “I want to assure you that whatever result that emanates from the exercise and across the 260 wards is certainly what we are taking to Abuja, nobody is going to change anybody’s result.
With the aforementioned statement, CNPP does not need a soothsayer to know that the exercise was huge success.

We commend the Governor of Enugu state, Rt Hon (Dr) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the political feat. If the National Secretariat of PDP could pour such an encomium on him, why should his state not appreciate him? To your Excellency, we say kudos.

During and after the ward congresses of 30th April, 2022, the political mafias of Enugu state and their foot soldiers in collaboration with their principal were busy conducting a parallel congress in their areas of dominance being supervised by “ghost INEC officials”.

At the end, they flooded the social media with fictitious results with corresponding funny but manipulated video clips.

CNPP now want to ask” is this the tactics which made them vow that it is only God that can stop them from attaining the position of governorship of Enugu state?

Is that all they could do. Of course the voice of man is the voice of God!!! After all years in Abuja and Enugu state residents could not feel their impact is now.

The majority of Enugu state residents have vented their resentment and anger at this unending domination of this dormant and greedy political player. So if the residents resent someone, then person doomed before God.

In a battle for supremacy, it is fitness of the contenders that go for the test. From the foregoing and from the statement of PDP Electoral Committee, we in CNPP see this as a feeble way of testing supremacy. The era of using local and unrefined approach to achieve victory in politics is over. And we ask these mafias,their foot soldiers and their principal to end the political circus they are showing the public.

RT Hon (Dr) Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a colossus. He stand firm on his feet politically as he has transcended the political terrane of Enugu state with his good works which is written on marble.

CNPP wish to issue a stern warning to those who want to destroy the very peaceful fabric of Enugu state through political mischief to desist from such. You have had enough. Having spent more than a decade in governance, what else. Please give peace a chance.

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) Enugu state chapter will not hesitate to organise the mother of all protest march round the city if you and your political cohorts create unnecessary tension in the state.

We are by this release asking these hired and disgruntled political marabouts to let the sleeping dog.
