This was the demonstration of the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo- agege who donated a full equipped computer hall to the St Itas Girls Grammar School Sapele, Delta state.

The Deputy Senate President while Inaugurating the Computer hall in Sapele stressed that the gesture was a means of giving back to the alma mater education is basic to human capital development which indicates its central role in socio-economic development.

Omo-agege who was represented by his Senior Special adviser, Hon. Blessyn Brume Ataguba,
Explained that the computer hall would further aid the study of information communication Technology in the school knowingly fully that the world is a global village.

He therefore appealed to the old girls not to relent in continuing to respond to the urgent challenge of rebuilding the school adding that he was delighted by the bold initiatives taking by them to support the school.

” The intervention of the Old Girls Association help to bridge funding gaps in the provision of facilities by government is reflection of a strong response to assist the school as government cannot tackle all the challenges alone due to inadequate resources” Omo- agege added.

Omo-agege who commended the old girls for embarking on assistance schemes as strategies to give back to the school said he is comitted to facilitate improve standard and quality education to form a collective bright future for the Nigerian youths

In her welcome Address, the National President of St Itas Old Girls Association, SIOGA, Justice Roli Daibo-Harriman stressed that the purpose of the reunion was not only to reconnect with old school mates but to appreciate what the Alma mata had given to them as well as reflect on what they can give in return.

Justice Daibo-Harriman who rolled out achievements recorded so far from the growth of branches and class groups to business and welfare packages emphasized that the Association cannot continue to expend money on infrastructure without the commensurate increase in student population urging members to woe students to the school.

The SIOGA National President who commended members of the reunion Committee for a work weldone noted that only a fraction of the Alma mata are financially up to date therefore appealed to the old girls to join in the development of the school by contributing meaningful to projects and payment of dues.

The Chairman of the reunion planning committee, Professor Cecilia Otete Okobiah implored the olds students to contribute their quota for the upliftment of the school.

The high point of the event was the presentation of awards to distinguished members, state chapters, spelling bee, traditional displays by the host chapter, health and retirement talks as well as dancing displays by Abuja chapter.

The three day event which ended with a thanksgiving mass coincided with the Old girls 2022 reunion and had in attendance current and old students of the school from the 36 state and the FCT as well as members of the diaspora chapters.
