Must We Destroy C/River With Inordinate Quest Over What Has Clear Beneficiary By Convention?

“I Hope People Should Allow The Current Governor Prince Bassey Otu To Depart From Celebrating “Lies” As Our Former Mantra And Uphold Truth To Set Us Free”

I have been inundated with calls and several text messages from notable personalities, politicians and non-politicians in the state, who are concern citizens, including friends, urging me to say something concerning the in-fighting going on amongst the political-class of desparados insisting to be the ones to take the Ministerial slot offered to Cross River State.

I had wanted to have a good rest from the media, social or conventional, after putting up a stern fight to secure our victory from the formidable Original Caterpillars and their likes of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

Here is my opinion:

Ministerial appointment should not be for sale to the highest bidder or desparados.

It’s inconcievable to witness the manner and level at which desperation of an uncanny proposition is been displayed by those wishing to be ministers in the current Federal Government, especially where it is said that the unannounced list contains paraded names of those with no known political structure capable of delivering a fly in the state when it matters most, apart from the noise we hear them make in Abuja occasionally without depth; including little influence exerted by their imposed political offices and relics of past glories, some of which were made possible by our past emperor John-Jack, where they’re now insisting on being the minister representing Cross River State by fire and by force. I have been around in this game for a long time and indeed far longer than some greedy wep parading themselves just because they had once the opportunity or did what we had refused to do for morality sake and the fear of the Lord, to be where they are; unappreciative of their sources of ascendancy.

Ministerial appointments were supposed to be the preserve of those who are grounded politicians from their various states with palpable structures made up of gregarious following that can be called upon to deliver a mandate with the snap of a hand; not impostor or favoured elements and opportunists, including Olivertwist, whom we find all over the place hankering for same for one unconventional reason or the other.

What then becomes the fate of those who have spent their hard-earned money to build people, what do you make of them in this circumstance?

Usually, ministerial appointments are offered or carries the list sent by the sitting Governor of the state of those who contested Governorship elections with him in the party in power and lost in their various states as a priority.

Following them are highly persuasive leaders with notable followership within the state, both in and out of politics; they are those legible to show their face for such appointments, which is regarded as the second highest office after the state governor.

And such a candidate is supposed to reflect the insignia of the people, not anybody or else those like us who are highly celebrated for our works, contributions, and stand should have been the preferred choice. But for me, I didn’t work for Tinubu.

Politics is more local than national. That’s where all political victories are measured not yonder.

The sitting Governor was supposed to give preference to those who contested with him and spent their hard-earned money much as he did to run the contest along where they happened to lost because it is only one person that was supposed to win. And it was decided that the current Governor Prince Otu was the most favoured by the people.

That makes a lot of sense and purpose for the sake of balancing, fairness and to further enhance cooperation, coexistence and to reduce detente.

For Christ’s sake, we should strive to make progress in this state by all means in upholding equity and fairness, otherwise, the circle of hate will continue unabated. And that’s not what the current Governor need at this point. As that retards progress. I will always stand on the part of truth whether I gain or loose.

I hate opportunists. They’re treacherous human beings. They rip where they did not sow. Its not smartness. Its propelled by evil spirit for abhorrence by those who cherish hardwork.

If you ask my opinion, the first in that order undoubtedly should be: Senator John Owan Enoh, followed by both Engr. Ben Akak and Chief Chris Agara.

These are those with high followership in the state at the moment, trailing behind the current Governor Prince Otu. Why should they look the way of political sedenterers or ever contemplating in picking people from outside of that circle or spentforces? That is not right!

These person mentioned did spend their hardened money to sustain their structure in the state and from which they used that structure in commanding victory for our party and for the current Governor. They should be compensated first before any of us, one way or the other, not those wishful thinkers whose only duty is to jump in and out of political rallies where they influence no one only to be noticed, including surrogates.

I speak as an authority in Cross River politics, I am old enough where, for the second time, I played a very significant role in throwing up a Governorship aspirant from inception to completion. Both in the emergence of the current Governor Prince Bassey Otu, who was generally known by all as my candidate before and after the party primaries, and subsequently where I remained glued to enhance and insist on victory. I said it, and I did it.

Evidences are there. Not cheap talk or a dance around ethnicity. And it came to pass. We thank the Lord for its grace.

I know where the strength of everybody lies politically here in the state of Cross River, not mouth talk, whether anybody agrees to that or not, is their cup of worries. There is always another time.

It’s great wisdom that we should not screw this one up because we are un-top.

Hate or like me, conspire as much as you can, I remain the same Comrade Obi Ojage.

End Time Message!
