Women Welfare: Female Youth Group Commends Minister of Women Affairs Over Her Hardworking Nature, Tireless Efforts
Nigeria Female Youth Organization has hailed the hardworking nature and tireless efforts of the Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Uju Kennedy, saying that such virtues have been evident in her numerous accomplishments, both professionally and in service to humanity.
The President of the organization, Princess Mimi Peter, who acknowledged these characteristics, in a statement on Friday, described her as “a beloved mother to all.”
She noted that as a detribalised leader, “Barr Uju Kennedy’s vision transcends boundaries, uniting people from diverse backgrounds for the greater good of our nation.
“Recall that on her first day in office, she visited the National Hospital Abuja, which she said was deliberately arranged to sustain her philanthropic drives towards providing succor to the less privileged in the society.
“Prior to her appointment as Minister for Women Affairs, Kennedy has been doing all she can to improve the well-being of Nigerian women and children. She has been ensuring fairness and justice for women and girls.
“Advancing of the rights and welfare of Nigerian women, including the pursuit of justice whenever their rights were violated were her watch words”, she emphasised.
Princess Mimi Peter then urged all citizens to work together with the Minister to actualise the dream of a country where women’s rights are respected and protected.
Referencing the recent UNICAL Scandal, Princess Mimi said all the minister asked for was “conducting a thorough investigation to ensure justice was served and the offender rightly punished.”
She added that “Barr. Uju Kennedy is a mother that will stand for women at all times.
“The minister in her school days had encountered sexual harassment, so she understands the irritation of such abuses.
“She asked for investigation so that the sex offender will not go free; she wants offenders to be rightly prosecuted”, Princess Mimi explained.
The female youth organization declared its support for the minister, saying it was “optimistic that the country will in no small measure witness zero gender inequality and have a free gender base violence societies.”
While urging all to support the Minister to achieve her vision for development, she added that Barr.Uju Kennedy is for the interest of women, children and the country at large.
She urged all women who have been violated in any way to speak out and report as the minister is ever ready to handle such cases.
